SarahMo and Data Protection – we have you covered

We will only do what is right by you when it comes to your personal data and privacy.

At SaraMo, we are committed to ensuring your privacy is protected. As our customer, you are our top priority. This policy sets out how we use and protect the personal information that you give us when using our website. We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page, to better inform you of all of your rights relating to your personal data.

As our headquarters are in Australia, we operate under the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988

What do we collect?
Things we collect in relation to ‘order information’ include:

  • Name
    • Address (billing and shipping)
    • Payment information
    • Email address
    • Phone number
    • Purchase history
    • Location data

We also collect ‘device information’ surrounding how you use our website to help us develop and improve it, through using:

  • Cookies – a cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual and help us to provide you with a better website, tailoring it to your needs. You can choose to accept or decline cookies, this may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website
  • Log files – these track actions on the Site, and collect data including IP address, browser, and device type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages and date/time stamps
  • Web beacons, tags, and pixels - electronic files used to record information about how you browse our site.

What do we do with it?

We use order information to ensure we provide you with the best service possible. This information allows us to get your order to you, to let you know it has been received, processed and dispatched and to screen orders for potential risk or fraud.

We may also use the above data to communicate with you, for purposes including the occasional email concerning new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address you have provided.

You can stop these at any time by:

  • Contacting us by emailing us directly at privacy@sarahmo.com
  • By clicking ‘unsubscribe’ in any of the marketing messages you receive, this can typically be found at the bottom of email.

Please allow up to 3 days for this to take effect.

We use device information to help us screen for potential risk and fraud and more generally to improve and optimize our Site, including generating analytics about how you browse and interact with us and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns.

How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with your personal data to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.
If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you can withdraw your consent for us to contact you - for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information; or to fully delete you from our records anytime by contacting us at privacy@sarahmo.com.

We’ll get it sorted.

Shopify

We host our store using Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. All your data is stored through Shopify's data storage, databases, and the general Shopify application. All data is stored behind a firewall on a secure server.

Payment

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

For more insight, you may also want to read Shopify’s Terms of Service (https://www.shopify.com/legal/terms) or Privacy Statement (https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy).

Third Party Services

SaraMo will not disclose any of your information to any third parties except:

  • in a situation where it is part of providing a service to you, including arranging for a product to be sent to you, carrying out security checks, customer research or when you have given us permission to do so, or
  • in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including responding to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information.

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies, so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

Please remember that certain providers may be in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So, if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

As an example, if you are in Australia and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service. Please see below for a list of Third-Party Services we use and a direct link to their privacy policy page.
