I thought the neck surgery would be the hard part. Turns out, the real challenge was being banned from knitting for six weeks. No needles. No yarn therapy. Not even one sneaky row.
Sometimes life forces us to pause.
These photos show a chapter I wasn't expecting. An ambulance ride. Hospital. Major neck and spine surgery. And a recovery journey that tested me more than I imagined.
What I didn't anticipate was how difficult it would be to give up knitting for six weeks.
Knitting has always been more than a hobby. It's my creativity, my calm, my connection and my happy place.
When I couldn't knit, I felt the absence every single day.
But healing, much like knitting, happens one stitch at a time. One small step. One good day. One milestone. One row.
Today, I'm grateful to say that recovery continues, and the needles are back in my hands.
